Our Family Story

Our company’s roots in the Yakima Valley go back to 1970, when Roger Kline founded the business. He believed in quality craftsmanship, honesty, and hard work. What began as one man with a vision quickly grew into a trusted name in construction—built on Roger’s dedication to doing things the right way. Roger and his three sons—Roger Jr., Dennis, and Terry—shared these values as they helped establish Kline Construction.

In 1990, Roger’s son Dennis carried that legacy forward. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 20 employees, including carpenters, cabinet makers, and painters. Dennis broadened the company’s capabilities while staying true to the values that shaped its early years. His commitment strengthened Kline’s reputation for reliability and personal service, ensuring every project reflected the family standards set decades before.

In 2018, the torch passed to the third generation when Andy Kline took over the company after working alongside his dad, Dennis, for 26 years. With deep respect for the foundation laid by both his father and grandfather, Andy continues to guide the business into the future. Our team of employees is second to none, and we are proud to have some of the best craftsmen in the region. Kline quality is—and always has been—the standard.

Three generations later, our mission remains unchanged: treat every project as if it were our own, and every customer like family.

Custom, residential, or commercial construction. Custom cabinets, finish work, and painting. They are remodel specialists, who can get the job done right, and professionally!

I am so grateful that I went with this company! Terry and Dennis Kline helped me to refine my ideas. The demo started right on schedule, and the remodel finished on schedule as well. The project manager/cabinetmaker Jeff was so conscientious that nothing went wrong---at all!! Mess during the demolition was minimal. People have delighted in telling me horror stories about remodeling projects. I had the opposite experience. I won't say it was a dream--living through the banging, drilling, clatter and dust wasn't easy, and microwaving dinner in the dining/living room wasn't pretty, but all in all, my experience was wonderful. Kline's people are wonderful and pleasant and --hey, I love my new kitchen, and my two new closets, but I sort of miss having the guys around.

Kline Construction just finished a project for us converting two small bedrooms with bathroom into a single master bedroom with walk-in closet and a spacious shower. We couldn't be more pleased with the quality craftsmanship, the respectful communications, and the courtesy of both employees and contractors. It's a big thing to share your home while it's being demo'd, floors refinished, sheetrock installed/textured. Lot's of potential for massive dust - Kline (and contractors) did an excellent job of dust abatement, protecting the floors, and repairing any dings that happen along the way. We had the inevitable problems of material delays that always happen in a project, Stuart Spurlock, our project manager, did an excellent job of always keeping us informed and finding creative solutions. We actually benefited in an incident or two that seemed problematic at first. That's one of the benefits of hiring experienced professionals, turning problems into opportunities. If you have a project like ours, Andy Kline and Kline Construction are worth your consideration. We are not only happy with the results but the process as well.
